Galleria Eugenia Delfini is delighted to attend Artissima 2024 in the Monologue-Dialogue Section with a solo presentation by the artist and poet Pier Paolo Perilli (b. 1974, Rome).
Perilli's figurative work does not adhere to any school nor depended upon any specific aesthetic. Everything came to him from within himself, however when in front of one of his paintings, it is possible to feel his interest in the XX and XXI Centuries art as for instance the Pre-Raphaelites, James Ensor, or Marc Chagall.
Perilli paints what he first sees and perceives as an image. When these images appear, he memorizes and releases them into paintings. Usually, he borrows certain elements from reality, constructing with them mechanisms beyond the control of intellect, thus soon ventured into the poetic, the phantasmagoric. Populated by symbolic language – animals, masks or couple of people who appear from nowhere – his images are often dreamlike and the expression of an imaginative and psychological dimension.
