Rachele Maistrello

Bio

Rachele Maistrello (b.1986) is a visual artist based in Bologna, Italy. 

She has been trained at IUAV University, Venice, École nationale supérieure des beaux-Arts, Paris, and Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, Zurich. 

In 2020 she is the winner of the Graziadei Award and artist in residence at MAMbo, Bologna. In 2019 the Inside-Out Art Museum of Beijing invited her to attend their residency program. In 2018 she is the winner of the Movin'Up Award and the nctm e l’arte Award, same year, is among the artists selected at Plat(t)form-Fotomuseum Winterthur and is the winner, in 2017, of ABITARE Grant, commissioned by the MiC - Italian Ministry of Culture, MUFOCO, Cinisello Balsamo, and Triennale Milano.

Her work has recently been exhibited at Palazzo Reale, Milan (2023); MAXXI, Rome (2022-2021), Benaki Museum, Athens (2022); Hamlet, Zurig (2020), Inside-Out Art Museum, Beijing (2019), Triennale Milano (2018), PHotoEspaña, Madrid (2018), Parallel Vienna, Austria (2017), Mediterranea Young Artists Biennale, Tirana (2017), Galleria Civica di Modena (2015), Ca’ Rezzonico, Venice (2013), MSUM, Ljubljana (2013), MUFOCO, Cinisello Balsamo (2012), ZKM, Karlsruhe (2007).

Her works is in European private collections and museums collections, such as: MAXXI - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo (Rome), Galleria Civica di Modena, MUFOCO - Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea (Cinisello Balsamo).
